Nearly 550 COVID-19 patients discharged last week; Virginia hospitalizations increase 11%

RICHMOND, Va. — COVID-19 hospitalizations in the Commonwealth increased roughly 11% over the past week, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA).

As of Friday, there were 580 hospitalized patients confirmed positive for COVID-19, which is up from 523 (+57) last Friday, according to the VHHA.

Much of Central Virginia is now considered to be under a high COVID-19 community level, according updated data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The VHHA reported a total of 110,411 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged Friday, an increase from 109,862 (+549) patients from last Friday’s update.
